Amp Tech Simulator
Your email, and what we do with it.
This page covers the Amp Tech Simulator mailing list and this website. The game itself will have its own privacy policy before any build collects anything.
Who we are. Amp Tech Simulator is made by Andrew Malashock, an independent developer in the United States. Write to hello@amptechsim.com about anything on this page.
What you give us. When you sign up, the only information you give us is your email address. We then send a confirmation email, and you are on the list only after you click the link in it. That click is your agreement to receive our emails.
Age. The list is for people 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect an address from anyone under 16. If we learn we have one, we delete it.
What we use it for. Game news and playtest invites: devlog updates, invitations to playtests, and the launch. A playtest that needs anything more than your email comes with its own notice, and being on the list does not sign you up for one. We also use your address to honour your unsubscribe and deletion requests, and where the law requires it.
Who else handles it. We never sell or rent your address, and never give it to anyone for their own marketing. Buttondown stores the list and sends the emails for us, under its own privacy policy. It sees your signup request, including your IP address and browser, and may record whether an email is opened or a link is clicked. Netlify hosts this site, and like any web host its logs see the usual request details: your IP address, the time and your browser. Nothing else on the site loads from another company, and the site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Both are in the United States, so if you sign up from elsewhere, your address is processed there.
How long we keep it. Until you leave the list, you ask us to delete it, or we close the list and delete it.
If the project changes hands. We tell the list who holds it now. They may use it only for what this page names, and for anything else they have to ask you first.
Unsubscribing. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it stops our mail. Buttondown keeps a record that the address unsubscribed, because that record is what stops it being mailed again.
Deleting. Deleting is a separate request. Write to us from that address, and within 30 days we take it off the list and ask Buttondown to delete it too. The unsubscribe record may stay, for the same reason as above, and ordinary backups and server logs keep a copy until they expire. To ask what we hold, write to us the same way, and we send you what we and Buttondown have for that address.
Your rights. Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold, correct it or delete it, and you can take back your agreement at any time by unsubscribing. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes. If this page changes in a way that matters, the new version goes here with a new date, and we tell the list.
